Learning to control and possess the ball in soccer is the first step to becoming an elite player...without control, it is nothing more than a backyard game of kickball.  Most young players are controlled by the ball...where the ball goes they go.  If it bounces here, they go there...The Winning Touch series is designed to teach your player to control and dictate what they want the ball to do.  Come join us through this series as we develop the next generation of great soccer players!

Each invidiual clinic runs 6 weeks, 1 hour per week. 

The Winning Touch - Ball Mastery  (Nov.-Dec.)

• Series 1 of The Winning Touch progression, Ball Mastery, focuses on teaching your player how to control and manipulate the ball using all different surfaces of their foot...inside, outside, sole, toe, and heel.  The emphasis of this 6wk session will be on teaching footwork and correct body positioning that are vital to developing a good first touch.  Developing a sense of mastery over the ball, a comfort and confidence with using the different parts of their foot and the body positioning necessary, is the foundation on which the next two series (The Winning Touch - Receiving Air Balls, and Striking a Ball), will build upon.

The Winning Touch - Receiving Air Balls  (Jan.-Feb.)

• Series 2 of The Winning Touch progression, Receiving Air Balls, addresses those awkward and difficult flighted balls.  The game of soccer is not strictly played on the ground...especially at the higher levels, the ball starts to be played in the air more often, controlled and purposely played long into the forwards.  It is necessary that all young players develop a sense of confidence and proficiency controlling and handling these flighted balls, learning how to receive a ball before it hits the ground, rather than waiting for it to bounce.  The footwork and body positioning learned in the Ball Mastery sessions, will now be critical as your player learns how to successfully control a ball out of the air.

The Winning Touch - Striking a Ball  (Feb.-Mar.)

• Series 3 of The Winning Touch, Striking a Ball, teaches your player how to properly prepare their touch before striking a long ball or shot.  So many young players struggle with shooting because they do not set themselves up for success before they strike the ball.  This series will combine all the techniques used in the previous two series and teach your player how to move their feet, set up their body positioning and be prepared to strike a ball with accuracy and power...in essence how to be succesful shooting!
