Every player knows how to pull a scissors move...but do they understand when and where to use it?  Do they understand how to be successful using the scissors move during competition?  Are they comfortable pulling a scissors move against a defender?  It is not enough for your son or daughter to learn the move, they must understand how and where to use it on the field as well as developing the confidence to take risks utilizing these moves.  The Professional Touch is a series committed to developing confident and successful risk takers on the field...goal scorers. 

These clinics will teach your older, more experienced players how, when, and where to use 1 v 1 skills.  Content includes the following moves:  inside cut, outside cut, slap cut, pull touch, hoddle, pull v, pause and go, lunge fake, scissors, step over, hip fake, leg fake, shot fake...etc.  While not the main focus of this series, The Professional Touch sessions, will include shooting and finishing.  If you are looking to develop and attacking mentality within your son or daughter, this clinc is for you!

Each individual clinic will run 6 weeks, 1 hour per week. 

The Professional Touch  -  Beating your Defender Laterally  (Nov.-Dec.)

• Not all 1 v 1 situations require the attacker to explode past their defender...sometimes it is enough to create 12 inches of space to the right or left of the defender in order to play a pass up into the forwards feet or to strike a shot on goal.  This clinic, "Beating your Defender Laterally", teaches your player 1 v 1 skills that will enable them to create that little bit of space side to side needed to shoot and score amongst a crowd.  These sessions will be especially beneficially for center midfield players and forwards.

The Professional Touch  -  Beating your Defender to Goal  (Jan.-Feb.)

• Players who find success pulling a move and then exploding past their defender in game situations are invaluable to a team’s attacking success.  This requires a perfect combination of control, balance, change of pace and change of direction, all while reading the defender’s body language.  Players who are comfortable, confident and find success beating a defender are players who have the ability to impact and change a game.  This clinic, "Beating your Defender to Goal", will work on teaching your player the moves that can help them be successful in such game situations, how to unbalance their defender with a move and how to explode to goal.  These sessions will be especially beneficial for outside midfield players and forwards.
